LOCAL ACCOUNTANT NAMED A WOMAN TO WATCH BY THE MASSACHUSETTS SOCIETY OF CPAs

East Longmeadow Resident Named to the MSCPA’s 2020 Women to Watch List

BOSTON— August, 2020 — East Longmeadow resident Kristi Reale, CPA, CVA was selected as a 2020 Women to Watch Award winner by the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA), the professional association of certified public accountants, representing over 11,000 members. The awards recognize women who have made outstanding contributions to the accounting profession, their communities, their firms or companies and to the development of women as leaders.

Reale, a partner at Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C., is one of seven women selected to receive a 2020 Women to Watch Award. She was selected in the Experienced Leader category, reserved for professionals with more than 15 years of experience in the accounting industry. Awards are also presented in the Emerging Leader category, which is reserved for women with 15 years of experience or less.

“The MSCPA is proud to recognize the accomplishments of these remarkable women, and we’re looking forward to honoring Kristi for her outstanding contributions to her peers, her community and the profession,” said Amy Pitter, president and CEO of the MSCPA.

In her role at the firm, Reale has made an impact on several businesses by providing exceptional services for a wide range of industries, including business valuation, management advisory, family and independent business, accounting, assurance and taxation. She was published in BusinessWest and HealthCare News and has served as a speaker for the Western Mass SCORE Annual Women’s Roundtable, Western New England Renal Transplant, Western Mass Bar Association and several other programs.

Heavily involved in her community, Reale also serves as a current treasurer and Executive Committee member of the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts, a corporate team leader and event volunteer for both the Springfield Boys and Girls Club and the American Heart Association Heart Walk among many others. In addition, she serves as a role model and mentor to several young women at the firm.

“Having worked at MBK for almost 20 years, Kristi’s personal touch to public accounting has allowed her to identify and pursue strategies and solutions that not only fit clients’ business objectives, but also allows them to pursue their personal goals,” said Howard Cheney, CPA, MST, partner at Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C. “A significant asset to the firm, she also serves as a role model to a number of young women on our staff and works hard as a mentor, helping young accountants navigate the road to success.”  Howard Cheney, CPA

Award winners will be honored on October 28 at the MSCPA’s Women’s Leadership Virtual Summit.
