Scholarships

Since its founding as the Publicity Club in 1909, the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts has been comprised of professionals in the advertising, marketing, design, and affiliated fields of the region's communication arts community. The Ad Club is pleased to offer a scholarship to our future communications professionals and invite you to apply.

Guidelines

  1. Application is open to any high school senior or college freshman planning to pursue a college education in a communications field and whose permanent address is in western Massachusetts.

  2. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated interest in communications, academic achievement, community and social involvement, and personal recommendation.

  3. The scholarship is to be applied against tuition and fees at the college of the recipient's choice. Award may be made jointly to the recipient and the college.

  4. Decision will be made by the Scholarship Committee of the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts; a panel of communications professionals. Decision of the committee is final.

Support Materials

  1. Please attach a short letter in which you discuss your personal goals and how they relate to the communications field. Include a paragraph on your academic goals, intended major, and criteria for selecting college. This letter is very important in our selection process and should be carefully prepared and presented.

  2. Attach an official high school transcript of your grades or arrange to have one sent to us directly as soon as possible. College freshmen must also include a transcript of college grades thus far.

  3. Attach three personal references (teachers, clergy, family physician, or other persons not related to you) who can discuss your qualifications for the scholarship along with a letter from each in which they detail those qualifications.
