SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – As part of its 90th Anniversary celebration, The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts is looking for a new logo and has announced a special logo design contest opened to all area designers.

“The current Ad Club logo has served us well for a number of years,” Says Rick DeBonis of Hampden Bank, Ad Club board member. “However, as with any vibrant business or organization there comes a time to update and modernize your look and image. This is especially true when it comes to an organization that represents the marketing and advertising talent here in western Massachusetts. What better time for an update than your 90th birthday party?”

Karen Woltjen, Ad Club president and Director of Corporate Underwriting, WGBY, says, “In addition to being recognized by his or her peers and through Ad Club public relations and communications, the winning designer will receive a free one-year Ad Club membership. The winning entry will also be automatically entered into the 2006 Advertising Club awards competition.

“There’s a tremendous amount of design talent here that’s equal to or better than anywhere else in the country. We’re really looking forward to a great competition,” she adds.

The logo contest rules are as follows:
  • The new logo must reflect the image and mission statement of the Ad Club (see By Laws)
  • Entry must show use of the logo as stand alone/on letterhead/envelope/business card;
  • Entry must reproduce well in both black & white and in color;
  • All entries to be submitted electronically by April 15, 2005, in JPEG format and submitted to: logdclubwm.org. Decision of the judges is final.

The winner will be announced at the May 2005 luncheon of the Ad Club.
