2012 Ad Club of Western Mass ADDY® Awards

2012 MADDY WOMEN CALL FOR ENTRIES

“If you don’t like what’s being said, change the conversation.”
—Mad Men, Season 3

Presented by The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts in affiliation with the American Advertising Federation, the ADDYs stand alone in offering the opportunity and challenge to compete at the local level, by district, and ultimately to be honored as one of the best at the national ADDY® awards. Enter your local ADDY competition (in New England, that’s via the Ad Club of Western Massachusetts) and let everyone in the market see what you can do.

GET ENTERED, GET KNOWN, GET THAT GROOVY CORNER OFFICE!
The Ad Club of Western Mass. invites the entire New England advertising and marketing community to submit entries, which must first be registered online at here.

Rules may change from year to year, so entrants are encouraged to read them carefully at registration.

HERE’S THE SKINNY
Eligibility: All work must have been published or aired between January 1 and December 31, 2011. With the exceptions of Public Service Advertising, Advertising for the Arts, and Advertising Industry Self Promotion categories, work entered must have been the result of paid creative services and media placement in the normal course of business—excluding student entries.

Entry Fees:
Ad Club WM members: $70 per entry, $90 per campaign
Non members: $100 per entry, $130 per campaign for nonmembers
Students: $25 per entry, $35 per campaign (must be a full time student)

Submission Guidelines: Mail completed and signed entry forms, entries, and payment through Monday, January 30, 2012 (postmark), to Tracy Piper at Berkshire Bank, 1259 East Columbus Avenue, Springfield, MA 01105; or you can drop them off in person at the Berkshire Bank Community Room on Friday, February 3, 2012, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. All broadcast entries must be placed on disc and all print entries should be submitted with a duplicate copy. (Since all entries are exhibited, we’ll need a clean copy to advance award-winning work!)

All Entries Must:
•Meet all eligibility and deadline requirements
•Be registered online in the correct category and be correctly identified
•Include a completed and signed entry form and two copies of work
•Conform to defined submission requirements
•Conform to all copyright laws

THE IN-CROWD
Three ADDY judges are annually recruited from outside District 1 (New England) according to national AAF guidelines. This outstanding panel of advertising creatives conducts a blind judging, independently scoring each entry on a scale of 1–100 in designated criteria.

LAY IT ON ME
Should your work be awarded, you’ll receive a letter identifying which of your submitted entries has been chosen. The Ad Club will advance all Gold Award winning pieces; Silver winners will have the option of advancing their work for a fee.

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE
Professional and student winners are announced at the annual ADDY Awards Gala, complete with a show gallery of all entries, food and (adult) beverages, music, and an emceed presentation. Honors include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Best of Show and/or a Judge’s Choice. Entrants, non-entrants, clients, and just about anybody who enjoys a great night out are welcome to attend Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Community Music School in downtown Springfield, MA. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Contact the Ad Club at 413-736-CLUB or e-mail infdclubwm.org.

About the ADDYs®
The ADDYs® are the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, recognizing and rewarding creative excellence. Conducted annually by the AAF, the ADDY® Awards competition is a three-tier national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the very best in their markets. Local winners then compete against other winners within their regions in one of 14 District competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the national/international ADDY® Awards competition.

Selection of the most creative entry in each category is made using a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry. In each category, a Gold ADDY® is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition. Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive Silver ADDYs®. The number of awards given in each category is determined by the judges, based on the relative quality of work in that category. Gold and Silver winners advance to the district competition.
